Obituary of Phyllis Lorraine Stauble
It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of our mother Phyllis Stauble, at the age of 95
years. She passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on March 22, 2020 in Calgary, after a
courageous battle with cancer. We are eternally grateful for her life and the love she gave to us all.
Phyllis lived a full and vibrant life. She was known for her caring, kindness and her quick willingness to
always lend a hand. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed her garden,
spending time on her many crafts, creating poems and prose and was always ready for a round of cards
or game of scrabble.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Lorridawn (Tim) Ivamy, David (Mary) Stauble, Joy (Mark) Van Marck
and Karen (Doug) Ruzicki. She will also be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren and great
grandchildren, Cory (Larisa), Ethan & Eleanor Van Marck, Cara (Barry), Tristan & Gavin Tobin, Curtis Van
Marck, Adam (Mary-Lynne), Emmett & Evelyne Stauble, Weston, Janae and Nolan Ruzicki, as well as
many, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon (of 52 years) in 1999 and an infant son in 1961.
She was also predeceased by her parents, Will and Maggie Kidd, and her siblings and their spouses,
Edith (Emile) Wauthier, Annie (Roy) Warrington, Harvey (Inez) Kidd, Vera (Lawrence) Ross, Audrey
(Alvin) Cowie, and Gordon’s siblings and spouses, Marion (Alan) Jones, Luetta (Bert) Kitts, Weston
Stauble and Rod (Meryle) Stauble.
A private family service will be held at the Alsask United Church and she will be laid to rest beside
Gordon in the Alsask Cemetery.
A celebration of life in her honour will be held at a later date to be announced.
