My condolences to Edythes family. I will always remember her bouncing along, smiling, eyes sparkling, and shrugging her shoulders when she giggled! She was a can do person and nobody got in her way. When I got back from a few months in Africa, she came over to mom and dads and I showed her my slides. She was very interested but also said, I was praying for you, you know. Rest In Peace.

My sincere condolence to your family. I have great memories of Mrs. Cowan, most around music, singing and theatre as she retired the year before I would have moved to her classroom. Her vivacious nature was infectious. She had that special ability to involve students, not just lecture them. Christmas concerts, drama nights, school teas and community events would feature her smiling face and her laughter was a daily sound in our shared classroom space during elementary school. I still remember many of the songs she taught us and have fond memories of time spent with her preparing for drama nights wokring on sets or rehearsing. I am grateful for her positive influence in my school years. I hope it is a comfort to her loved ones to know how many lives she touched.

So sorry to hear of Ediths (still Mrs Cowan to me) passing. I have many fond memories of Grade 5 and 6 in Langbank with her. Many years after my graduation, Edith was always so delighted to have a visit with me. She was a great teacher and a very good friend. Always a smile when we met. ️

My sincere condolences to your family. Mrs. Cowan, as I still think if her, was my Grade 5&6 teacher and I have great memories of her. She was always full of energy, interested and dedicated to her students. She was a positive presence wherever she went!

Edith was a one of a kind gem. I will remember always her exuberance for life. She was always so happy to see her former students and to visit, so interested in everything that was happening. May the sadness of her death be eased by wonderful memories and conversations.

Edythe was my grade 5 and 6 teacher and you are right in saying she loved music. I remember her box of band instruments being passed around in music class and the patience she had with us especially our very first class of flute-o-phone playing. It almost scared the neighbouring class right out of the building! It was always nice to have a chat with her and even later in life when I became an adult Id still catch myself calling her Mrs. Cowan! Our sympathies go out to your families.

Sincere sympathy to all the families on the loss of Edythe. She was my Gr 5-6 teacher( Marie Dartige). My memories are of a vibrant , well spoken lady. When we met up occasionally we would always have a great chat and she was always the same, as the years went by.
