John Egeland passed away peacefully on Friday October 8, 2021 at the Oyen Extended Care at the age of 92. He was born at home on the family farm near Acadia Valley on March 15, 1929 to Marcus and Lulu Egeland.
John married the love of his life Twyla Dyck and together they ran the family farm. Farming was a passion of John's and he and Twyla worked endless hours together "As" they always were together and are once again.
John was raised in a home with a strong faith and was always true to God. He enjoyed singing and playing his guitar and listening to Christian and Western music.
Drinking coffee and eating with family and friends at the Halfway Inn or Alsask 7-44 was one of his many pleasures. John enjoyed his chocolate bars and pop which he freely shared with his nieces and nephews.
John is survived by two sisters; Lois (Ed Barker+), Eunice (Al Harris+) and brother in law Elwood Dyck, as well as 27 nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Twyla and three brothers Ellard (Jean), Gordon (Ruthann), Norman (Eileen), and one sister Caroline (Harry Simmons).
The families of John wish to say a big Thank You to the Oyen Extended Care Team for their excellent care John received. The families would also would like to thank Bruce who was like a son and spent so much time looking after Uncle John's every need.
