Obituary of Lydia Tarr
Lydia Tarr was born in Estuary, Sask., June 28, 1921, the fourth of 5 children of Henry and Katie Berg. When Lydia was a young teenager, the family moved from Estuary to Empress, residing on a farm and later moving into the town. Lydia married Glenn Tarr on July 3rd, 1948 and together they raised 3 daughters and 1 son. In 1968, the family moved to Oyen, bringing their own house with them.
Lydia enjoyed family, friends, the coffee club and watching hockey. She was active in curling, loved dancing and music. She was a proud member of the 1921 birthday group Lydia was also a talented seamstress and avid gardener.
Lydia passed away April 22, 2024 at the age of 102 yrs. She will be greatly missed by her children and all that knew her. She was a wonderful Mother, a great lady with a sense of humor and a beautiful smile.
She is survived by her children, Glenda Steinley (Dennis), Brenda Wray, Debra Beck, Melven Tarr, 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Glen, her parents, 4 siblings, sons-in-law Dale Wray and Brian Beck, and numerous nephews and nieces.
The family of Lydia Tarr wish to express their gratitude to the physicians and health care staff of Big Country Hospital and Oyen Auxiliary. We wish to thank those that expressed their sympathy, sent cards and food.
