Thinking of Shirley and the Jorgenson family today. We were fortunate to spend a few months on the farm with them in 1973. We were there to learn about running a pig farm and ended up feeling like part of the family. Lots of fond memories of meals, music, dances, ping pong games, plays and of course family. My late husband and I never had the honor of meeting Shirley. we have had a lovely friendship with Irvine and Patsy as neighbors at Gull Lake. After reading the memoirs and Tribute I have to say the Oyen Community has lost a legacy. Rest in peace Mrs Jorgenson. A life well lived. Cal and Shary Edmunds

I was so sad to hear of Shirley's passing. Burt and Shirley became of my life in 1984. I was a 17 kid who came to New Brigden from Creston BC. I was immediately welcomed into their home and the Jorgenson clan has been a part of my life since. Burt was a mentor and Shirley always inspired me to be a good cook. TGIFs were such a good time as well as all the family events that we attended. My boys referred to them as Grandpa Burt and Grandma Shirley. Those people have had a positive influence in so many people's lives over the years. The world needs more people like Burt and Shirley. My thoughts, prayers and condolences go to the Jorgenson clan on the loss of a matriarch. Lots of love from Preben, Jared and Brendon Madsen
