Graham and family: so, so sorry for the loss you must be feeling with Marlene's death. Knowing how she lived, I feel she must have hated to lose this battle!
I am so ever thankful for the role which Marlene played in my life and in my career with the ACPC. She was so dedicated, committed and eager to learn, and available to help - whether through those long, warm July days at the Calgary Stampede... the quick turnaround time in which we had to find the funding for the canola display at the Ag & Food Museum in Ottawa so that it would open in time for Canada's 150th Anniversary, and the Canola Council of Canada's 50th... or the endless review of the Chase Superman Duffy books to ensure that the essence of being a farmer was captured accurately... and so much more. Throughout she was diligent in ensuring that the ag education which we did was worthy of the trust that farmers provided us with their levy dollars. And she loved it when we started the I (heart) farmers campaign. She was positive, energetic, with a smile that welcomed you openly.
My sincere sympathies. I hope that our paths cross again at some time in the future. Unfortunately, previous commitments prevent me from donning my comfy clothes and joining you in remembering Marlene. I am sure that it will be a fitting tribute.
